Is your child trying to tell you something?

If he or she is nonverbal or not-so-verbal, I’m certain they are trying to communicate. Neuroscientists, like Dr. Diane Powell, are only starting to understand the power and gifts of the autistic mind. One of the most jaw dropping is that children without fluent spoken language are already capable of communication without any special aids or tools.

Hundreds of parents and professionals who work with not-so-verbal autistic children have already experienced the gift of intuitive communication. What is intuitive communication? It is the ability to effortlessly send and receive messages without the spoken word, and it’s your child’s first language.

I’ve spent my career in autism education using intuitive communication as my tool for understanding the needs of my students. From understanding when to close a bothersome blind, to calming a 6 foot teen in complete meltdown in seconds, it has been my most valuable skill.

For the last several years I’ve been teaching intuitive communication to parents and professionals. I don’t have to tell you that establishing communication and understanding your child’s needs for the first time is beyond life changing.
